What is Plumbing Apprenticeships Victoria?

Plumbing Apprenticeships Victoria recruits, employs and then places apprentices with  plumbing businesses across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

The Master Plumbers Group Training Scheme also operates in Queensland, placing apprentices in Brisbane and south east Queensland. 

The scheme provides access to enthusiastic first to fourth year plumbing apprentices for short and long-term placements without the commitment of employing them.

What are the benefits of hiring a Master Plumbers' apprentice?

Hiring a Master Plumbers apprentice has many benefits. These include:

  • Select apprentices – our comprehensive recruitment process along with pre-employment training ensures that you have access to motivated, skilled apprentices.
  • Reduced administration – we take care of all employer associated admin including payment of wages and superannuation, Work Cover, supply of personal protective equipment, enrolment at trade school and completion of training agreement.
  • Flexibility– hire from one week to the term of an apprenticeship based on your labour needs.
  • Cost effective – the apprentice fills in a weekly time sheet so you only pay for hours worked.
  • Extensive support – Group Training Scheme staff manage all apprentice training and skill development. In addition we monitor the apprentice’s performance within your workplace, ensuring a successful placement.

How much does it cost to hire an apprentice?

You are charged an agreed hourly rate for hours worked. This is inclusive of award wages, standard allowances, overtime and non-productive time such as off-job training attendance, sick leave and annual leave.
