The Master Plumbers Association has a strong governance model. The Association’s Board is elected from the National Council which is made up of Members from across the membership categories.
Our National Councillors are here to represent you when government or regulatory bodies decide to make changes that will affect our industry and your business.
Scott has over 25 years’ experience in the commercial plumbing industry and has been a Member of the Association since 1997. He is Director of Cooke & Dowsett Pty Ltd, a national commercial plumbing company that currently employs over 380 full time employees. He has been a Committee member of the Construction Division since 2006 and is the division’s Chairman. Scott also represents the Construction Division on the National Council.
Norm has over 36 years’ experience in the commercial plumbing industry and is the Director of NSG Plumbing Pty Ltd, a Melbourne based company offering contract, maintenance, design and construct services.
NSG Plumbing currently employs 70 full time employees. Norm is an active member of the Construction Division and is a representative of the National Council, as well as a Member of the Plumbing Advisory Council Board.
Kevin’s company, Shinners Plumbing, has been a Master Plumbers Member since 1953. In 2002, Kevin was presented with the Hygieia Award for outstanding voluntary services for the development of the plumbing industry and in particular, recognition of his dedicated involvement in pursuing improvements in apprentice training for the industry. Kevin was granted Life Membership in recognition of his continuing contribution to the Association.
Adrian has been actively involved in the process, commercial and industrial heating industry for 28 years and has been a Member of the Master Plumbers since 2008. He is the Managing Director of Boilertech Pty Ltd, a national supplier, installation and service organisation.
Adrian represents the Plumbing and Gasfitting Division on the National Council and represents the Association on a number of technical standards committees. He was formerly President of the Boiler and Pressure Vessels Manufacturers Association and the Gas Appliance and Servicing Association.
Grant is a qualified plumber who has been involved in the industry for over 40 years. He is Director of Premier Plumbing Service, a commercial plumbing company based in Ballarat. Premier Plumbing Service is a third generation family owned and operated company. Proudly their membership with the Master Plumbers has continued unbroken for 65 years.
Commencing with Barden Roofing in 1983, Rob has been involved in all aspects of the business. From general roof plumbing on the tools to developing and implementing OHS and Quality Assurance systems, Rob has always been proud to have a hands-on involvement in all aspects of the industry.
Rob was appointed a Director of Barden-Steeldeck Industries in 2006. He has extensive experience working with builders, employees and union representatives and is committed to ensuring activities are carried out in strict accordance with all state and federal government legislative requirements.
As a Board Member, Rob has a desire to ensure that roofing is protected and kept in the plumbing stream, to ensure that quality is paramount and protects the consumer from any unqualified persons carrying out unlicensed work to their properties.
Daniel has over 20 years’ experience in the plumbing industry. He is the Managing Director of Smolenaars Plumbing and has two business locations in Sale and Traralgon trading under the Laser Plumbing Group umbrella. The business has been established in Gippsland for over 40 years and delivers work across a broad section of Eastern Victoria between Lakes Entrance and Warragul.
Smolenaars Plumbing deliver all facets of the plumbing industry covering new construction, civil earth works and pipe installation, with a specialisation in plumbing and gas maintenance. They have continued to expand the business into domestic and commercial hydronic heating, whilst also focusing on undertaking the role of principle contractor on opportunities within the local region. They are third party accredited in OHS, environmental and quality aspects relating to the works undertaken.
Greg has over 30 years’ experience both as a contractor and an educator. He has delivered over 15,000 hours of theory and practical training across the pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship and post-apprenticeship programs at RMIT University. Greg has contributed to a number of industry handbooks, reports and training programs, including over a decade of involvement in developing and delivering Green Plumber training. He has also designed and managed the installation of various leading edge work stations at PICAC. Greg also advises and assists with the development of various training programs at PICAC.
Peter has been involved in the plumbing industry for over 35 years. He is a Director of P & J Hall Plumbing Pty Ltd, a plumbing company based in Bayswater that specialises in all aspects of domestic plumbing. Peter is a representative on the National Council and has been a member of Master Plumbers since 1999. A small company, P & J Hall Plumbing Pty Ltd have been actively involved in community projects and are committed to ongoing apprenticeship development.
Peter is Vice Chairman of the Master Plumbers Plumbing and Gasfitting Division. He is Managing Director of Worboys Plumbing, which has been a member company of the Association over 75 years. In 2005, Worboys won the Green Plumbers Domestic Project of the Year award and was granted Life Member status of the Association 2016.
Phil joined the Master Plumbers when he started his own business in 1988. In 1990, he became Chairman of the Bendigo and Northern Zone, where he worked tirelessly to ensure Members were involved in activities, promoting the Workskills competition and supporting the local TAFE College.
Phil was on the Board of Central Victorian Group Training for five years. In 2013, the first Graham White Award was presented to Phil in recognition of his ongoing and valuable contribution to the Association and the community.
Peter has been in the industry for over 30 years and is Managing Director of Trio Plumbing. Trio Plumbing currently employs over 100 staff and is involved in all types of plumbing, construction, maintenance, roofing and specialised façade systems. Peter has a keen interest in continually trying to improve our industry and is particularly invested in the development of our next generation of plumbers.
Michael has over 15 years’ experience in the industry, ten of those successfully running Tomlinson Plumbing, which services Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula. He is passionate about providing excellent standards of customer service and workmanship for his clients. He is keen to share his knowledge and expertise with other plumbers, believing that it’s important to help others in the industry to broaden their skills.
Christopher has over 15 years’ experience in the plumbing industry. He is a graduate of the Master Plumbers Group Training Scheme. He started his own business, Around The Clock Plumbing Pty Ltd, in 2000, specialising in commercial maintenance work throughout Victoria. He strongly believes in the importance of future proofing our industry and upskilling both plumbers and apprentices. Christopher is looking forward to contributing further to the plumbing industry through his role on the National Council.
The Association’s Executive team works to ensure the delivery of services to members and is responsible for the representation of member issues to external bodies and regulators.
Peter has held a number of senior roles at RACV, a world-leading membership organisation and is an experienced executive. With a modern and progressive approach to management, he brings a strong track-record of leading and contributing to industry associations in Australia and internationally and has a background in corporate affairs, policy, advocacy and corporate services.
Bryan oversees the Plumbing Apprenticeships Victoria (PAV) Group Training Scheme and manages the operation and administration of the scheme in Victoria.
PAV has been providing the industry with highly skilled apprentices for over 30 years and currently employs over 100 plumbing apprentices.
Bryan also manages the Association’s financial and corporate services.
Brendan has a strong educational background and significant experience with training development in the plumbing sector. After completing a plumbing apprenticeship and working within industry Brendan's focus turned to education and has been involved in plumbing training and delivery since 2000.
In his role, Brendan oversees training, including the expansion of courses offered to members and industry. Master Plumbers delivers a range of courses including Certificate III Plumbing Apprenticeship, Certificate II Plumbing Pre-Apprenticeship and a number of license level and post-trade training courses.
