The Master Plumbers' & Mechanical Services Association of Australia is a registered national employer organisation providing representation and extensive services for a broad base of members in the plumbing and mechanical services sectors. The principal activities of the Association are to provide business services, industry representation, training and advice on industrial relations and employment to the membership.  The Association also operates a Group Training Scheme employing over 130 plumbing apprentices

We are seeking a person with some practical experience to take charge of our accounts payable and receivable processes. The role offers the opportunity to a person with accounting knowledge to develop the role into an Assistant Accountant role over time.

The role includes:

  • Managing incoming invoices and obtaining authorisation to pay
  • Payment of approved invoices
  • Producing invoices for services provided
  • Processing receipts
  • Following up outstanding debtors
  • Account reconciliations
  • Support for other finance department and Association roles.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be self motivated and be able to manage deadlines.  Experience with Microsoft Office is essential and exposure to computerised accounting packages is highly desirable.  The Association currently uses Xero as its finance system.

The salary for this position is expected to be circa $55,000.
