Group Training Scheme Manager
The Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of Australia is a registered national employer organisation providing representation and extensive services for a broad base of members in the plumbing and mechanical services sectors. The Association operates a Group Training Scheme providing employment and training for over 200 apprentices.
The Association is seeking to appoint an experienced Manager to run the scheme, which trades as Plumbing Apprenticeships Victoria.
The Manager is responsible for ensuring the ongoing development of the scheme to deliver the next generation of well-trained plumbers. The Manager's role is a mixture of hands-on apprentice and host employer contact and the general management of the scheme.
The Manager will ensure that the scheme has sufficient apprentices to meet the demand that they will generate from new and existing host employers. Management of the apprentices and the Group Training Scheme staff forms an important part of this role and applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills to enable them to effectively communicate with staff and employers. Proficiency managing budgets and understanding the financial drivers of a business are important requirements. The Manager will also be responsible for the development of the association’s labour hire business to operate alongside the Group Training Scheme.
Experience within Group Training or a construction related trade is advantageous but not mandatory. The ability to sell the benefits of Group Training to apprentices and employers is critical to success in the role.
